Number one on the top of that
list of folks who create a sense of
community is Allegheny West magazine. Thank
you for pulling us all together. Thank you
for the gentle reminders to your readers to
support the MFPA’s productions and other
community events, and thank you for making
us all feel part of something bigger. I hope
to see you at this year’s productions, and
again, thank you for supporting these
wonderful students.

Our Story |
|
| |
|
|
| |
Pat Jennette of North
Fayette Township owns and
operates Allegheny West
Magazine. A consistent
award-winning professional,
she has utilized her 30
years of experience in
journalism, business and
educational public
relations, community and
business marketing, and
publishing to provide the
community with these quality
publications. Pat launched
the first magazine in 1999
as a spin-off of her
company, Jennette
Communications Group, which
she began in 1997 to provide
marketing and public
relations services to
educational and small
business clients. |
|
|
|
| |
Since all residents received
good news from the school
district by free, direct
mail through the school
newsletter, Pat believed
that residents could be
empowered with the same good
news about all other aspects
of the communities where
they lived and worked. Thus,
the first magazine was born. |
|
|
|
| |
She launched the first
edition serving the
communities in the West
Allegheny School District
(Clinton, Findlay, North
Fayette, Imperial, Oakdale,
Sturgeon, and part of
McDonald), tapping from her
background as a public
relations director for the
school district of the same
name. She also used the
knowledge she gained from
her previous experiences as
a regional and local
newspaper reporter and as a
public relations consultant
for numerous public schools
and small businesses. |
|
|
|
| |
In 2003, the second edition
serving the Montour School
District communities of
Kennedy, Ingram, Pennsbury,
Robinson, and Thornburg
debuted. She launched the
third edition serving the
Moon Area School District
communities of Moon and
Crescent in November 2005. |
|
|
|
| |
Combined, the three editions
of Allegheny West Magazine
reach into the homes and
businesses in 14 communities
across Allegheny County’s
western suburbs surrounding
Pittsburgh International
Airport, with an estimated
100,000 + readers (based on
2.5 readers per household). |
|
|
|
| |
This full color, glossy,
high quality publication is
mailed to residents’ homes
and businesses bi-monthly. |
|
|
|
| |
The company adheres to its
motto, “Good News Always,
Mailed and Delivered Free,
Every Time.” |
|
|
|
| |
Allegheny West Magazine
employs only local freelance writers
and photographers that bring
diversity and experience
from the industry and have a
connection to the area the
magazine serves in one
capacity or another. |
|
|
|
| |
Over the years, the company
has been the recipient of
numerous awards and
recognitions. |
|
|
|
| |
Pat uses her 30-year
background in marketing,
public relations, and
communications to produce
the magazines and to build
relationships with
businesses, community
groups, and individuals that
use the magazines to
communicate. |
|
|
|
| |
Allegheny West Magazine is
proud to be a liaison
between the communities and
the audiences that it serves
by acting as “storytellers”
for its neighborhoods.
