Steubenville Pike Auto owner Jason Pottle has thus far given away 11 vehicles through the program and this December he will be giving away the program’s 12th vehicle. “Hopefully, the program will help recipients have an easier time getting to and from work, school events, doctor’s appointments and more,” Pottle says. “We’re proud to be a trusted independent auto repair facility in Robinson Township and we’re proud to give back to the community where we live and work!” The ideal nominee is somebody who thinks of others before themselves, is in need of a vehicle and resides in the local area. Car giveaway nominations now open CONTENT SUBMITTED Woman’s Club of Sewickley Valley kicking off a new season The Woman’s Club of Sewickley Valley has started a new season. The club welcomes members from the Quaker Valley, Moon Township, Ambridge, West Allegheny, Montour, Cornell, City of Pittsburgh, and other local areas. Though the majority of events are held monthly on Mondays at the Edgeworth Club in Sewickley, one meeting will also be held at the Montour Heights Country Club and one at Old Economy. The club will meet each month through June of 2024 and will offer different programming each week. This year, the club will be hosting a Pittsburgh Symphony member and his ensemble. Club members will also explore easy breadmaking, Moon Township history, presidential artifacts, Thrift Store fashion and more. There will be a tea, a Christmas celebration and other events as well. The Archangel Gabriel Parish Pizza Kitchen, a long-standing area favorite that at one time operated at Mother of Sorrows Church, will re-open in late October. The pizza kitchen will be cooking at the St. Malachy Cafeteria on Fridays. The St. Malachy Cafeteria is located at the rear of the building at 343 Forest Grove Road. Orders can be placed by calling (412) 771-0848 on Fridays between 8 a.m. and 1 p.m. Pick-ups take place between 11 a.m. and 6 p.m. The pizza kitchen will be open every Friday through Jan. 26, 2024. The kitchen will be closed Nov. 24, Dec. 22 and Dec. 29 for the holidays. All menu items are made fresh every Friday. Pizzas can be ordered “warm and cut,” meaning ready to eat, or “as is,” meaning the pizza can be warmed at home in a 350-degree oven for 10 to 15 minutes. Whole pizzas are cookie-sheet size and 12 cuts while half pizzas are six cuts. The pizza kitchen offers specialty rolls (pepperoni, sausage, spinach), ricotta gnocchi (sold frozen in two-pound bags), pasta and beans (pint or quart), sandwich buns, and everyone’s favorite, fried cakes with sugar or cinnamon sugar.
